Eco Warrior

Our Eco Warriors lead the way in making Hartside more environmentally friendly. As part of our student leadership team, they champion sustainable choices, run awareness campaigns, and help the whole school community think carefully about the impact of our everyday actions. From recycling and energy‑saving tips to nature projects around the grounds, their work helps build a culture of responsibility, pride, and care for the planet.

Last year, our Eco Warriors entered a solar‑energy competition and were invited to the Houses of Parliament, where they met our local MP and key members of the sustainability community. This year, they are working closely with Lyreco on a sustainability video to share best practice. They have also mapped our school grounds and biodiversity, which helped Hartside secure £5,000 from RHS Nature Park to regenerate the school pond—a project that will boost wildlife habitats and provide rich outdoor learning for years to come.
