House Teams

At our school, every child belongs to one of four house teams: Binchester, Bowes, Auckland and Raby. These names were chosen by the School Council after consulting the community, who suggested themes linked to local landmarks. Children join the same house as their siblings, creating a sense of family and teamwork. Each house has its own colour, worn proudly during PE lessons and Sports Day. Throughout the year, pupils compete in friendly challenges for attendance, reading and maths, earning points for their team.

  • Binchester – Inspired by Binchester Roman Fort, a site of historical importance that reflects the rich heritage of our area.
  • Bowes – Named after Bowes Museum, a stunning landmark showcasing art and culture close to Crook.
  • Auckland – Linked to Auckland Castle, a symbol of local history and community pride.
  • Raby – Celebrating Raby Castle, an iconic estate that represents strength and tradition in County Durham.

These landmarks connect our houses to the heritage of Crook and its surroundings, helping children learn about and feel proud of where they live.
