Housesteads Roman Fort Visit
Year 4 very much enjoyed their trip to Housesteads Roman fort on Hadrian's Wall. In the morning, they were put through their paces as Roman auxiliary soldiers.
After practising marching in formation, and obeying commands in Latin, the children dressed up in typical soldiers' tunics, and learnt how the soldiers used their weapons. After lunch, children had the opportunity to explore the fort, hunting for treasure boxes hidden amongst the ruins.
