Y1 had lots of fun at Auckland Castle. We walked around the grounds looking at the key features of a castle. We found turrets, towers, archways and battlements. We pretended to be knights and hid behind the battlements from Mr Pratt and Mr Hodgson. We also had a look inside the castle and learnt all about the Prince Bishop.
Some children even got to dress up like a bishop. In the afternoon we went for a walk in deer park and collected signs of summer. We collected lots of flowers and leaves. Then we went back to the classroom and made a picture using our objects. They looked fantastic!
